New Parent Ergonomics Workshop

This 90 minute workshop will touch on basic posture 101 to help you understand a little more about why posture matters and why the ways you interact with your new baby can cause injuries and pain.  We’ll cover a few basic areas of infant care, breastfeeding and carrying, that are stressful on the body and interventions to make them easier.  You'll learn practical exercises to protect your body from further breakdown and tips on how to integrate them into your everyday routine.  You will leave this workshop with a greater awareness of yourself and how you interact with your baby, and some new tools for self-care that can be applied right away.  Presented by Robin Naughton of Breathe Fitness.

New Parent Ergonomics Series

The class series will dive a little deeper into the how and why of new parent injuries and how to care for them. You'll learn how to identify postural issues and strategies for correcting them. We will cover more areas of infant care with the chance to bring in your carrier and/or stroller for personal adjustments. There will be a whole session dedicated to daily exercises with the following class geared toward integrating them with your baby.  The class series will give you more confidence as you move through the world with your little one, and help avoid many of the repetitive stress injuries synonymous with being a new parent.

*Please note that 2 of the 4 classes will be more beneficial hands-free (ie. if your little one is crawling or walking try to arrange for a babysitter), while the other 2 classes will actually be applying what you’ve learned and practicing with your infant.
