Stephanie Adams is a lactation educator counselor and SDBFC’s administrative assistant. She grew up in Arizona and has a bachelors degree in education from Northern Arizona University which she applied as an elementary school teacher for ten years following graduation. After becoming a mom of three children, she found her passion of working with expecting and postpartum families. For the past ten years, Stephanie has been a part of the San Diego birth community working as a birth doula and childbirth educator. Recently, she has decided to purse her IBCLC.
When an opportunity to work with SDBFC came up, I jumped at the chance. SDBFC played a huge role in my breastfeeding journey with my three children and as a birth doula and childbirth educator. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to work with and be a part of such a wonderful organization. Robin supported me throughout my entire breastfeeding journey with my twins, she came to my house postpartum day three when I was physically, emotionally and mentally drained. She helped me step by step develop a breastfeeding plan for my twins. As a doula, whenever my clients have a challenge with breastfeeding, SDBFC is the first place I encourage them to go. Being a professional in this community, I am grateful for all they do for our families. They are unlike any other breastfeeding support network in San Diego, providing a variety of lactation support, classes and resources. Looking ahead to 2019, I plan to pursue my IBCLC. This has been inspired by working along side the wonderful IBCLC’s at SDBFC, and my passion to explore supporting the postpartum side of the parenting experience.
