Breastfeeding is both a learning process for you and your baby. Sometimes is comes easily, other times it presents challenges. During times of difficulty, we are here to support and assist you to make this process easier and more enjoyable. We offer Postpartum consultations, Prenatal/Postpartum consultation packages, and Returning to Work consultations. All of our consultations are done at your home, or by Skype, when it is convenient for you.

Postpartum
Some issues that indicate a postpartum consultation:
- Baby not latching on or nursing well within 24 hours of birth
- Nipple pain and/or damage
- Engorged breasts
- Sleepy baby that does not feed at least 8 times in 24 hours
- Slow weight gain - infant has not returned to birth weight by 10 days of age
- Plugged ducts or red, painful areas on breast
- Mom feels she doesn’t have enough milk
- Nursing multiples
- Preemies
- Sick and/or hospitalized infants

Prenatal/Postpartum
Some issues that indicate a Prenatal/Postpartum Consultation:
- Previous difficulties breastfeeding
- Previous child with severe jaundice
- History of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)
- Maternal diabetes and/or gestational diabetes
- Maternal history of infertility
- Inverted nipples

Returning to Work
This consultation should take place, ideally, at 4-5 week postpartum, or at least 3 weeks before mom plans to return to work.
These private visits are for mothers who are returning to work and plan to pump and provide breast milk for their babies while separated.
