Group Classes
Breastfeeding 101 (see calendar)
In the Breastfeeding 101 class, soon-to-be parents will learn about the benefits of breastfeeding, what to expect in the first 2 weeks of breastfeeding, breastfeeding positions, and common misconceptions about breastfeeding. This is an interactive class, so please bring all of your questions about breastfeeding so that they can be addressed. Both parents are encouraged to attend.
Fee: $35 per couple, includes handouts
Place: Best Start Birth Center or Baby Garten Studio

Understanding Infant Behavior (see calendar)
Understanding Infant Behavior is based on research from the Human Lactation Center at UC Davis. In this class, parents will learn about normal infant behavior, including infant cues, reasons babies cry, and healthy infant sleep patterns. Parents will learn their own baby’s "language" to help them meet the needs of their child. The goal of the class is for parents to leave feeling more confident about their parenting skills and to have ways to cope with infant crying and inconsistent sleeping patterns. This class is most appropriate for parents with infants aged 0-4 months. Both parents are encouraged to attend and infants are welcome.
Fee: $35 per couple, includes handouts
Place: Baby Garten Studio
